Senior Consultant, Joint Replacement / Resurfacing & Sports Surgeon at Wockhardt Hospital, Mumbai pioneered and popularized hip resurfacing surgery with the first ever - live surgical demonstration of the Birmingham hip resurfacing done in Mumbai. This was done in an international conference on resurfacing. The conference was presided over by Dr. Dereck McMinn the inventor of the Birmingham Hip Resurfacing. He is well versed with advanced techniques in cartilage and ligament reconstruction and was on the list of doctors for the British Olympic association. Dr. Malhan has been in the forefront in the field of high bending total knee replacement and minimally invasive replacement surgery. He did his first minimally invasive mobile bearing uni-compartment knee replacement in India.
Hip Resurfacing and Dr. Ameet Pispati have come a long way. Dr Ameet Pispati was trained in this surgery in Birmingham itself from the inventors of this procedure, and has been practicing it since as early as 1995.
